Reach out
Telling someone you're about to start something can make it easier to actually start. Reach Out sends a short message to whoever you choose – a friend, a family member, a study partner – to say you're getting started.
Steps:
- Open your task.
- Select 'Share what you're working on' under 'Reach Out'.
- Your device's usual sharing options open. Choose how you'd like to send it.
- Choose who to send it to.
The message is written for you, and it's deliberately low-key: it says you're working on something and that letting them know helps you start, and it invites encouragement without asking for anything. You can change it before sending, or add anything you'd like to. You can also copy it instead of sending, if you'd rather use it somewhere else.
Your task name and details aren't included – only that you're getting started.
Reach Out works on your phone and on the web, though the sharing options available will differ depending on the device you're using.
