Add a checklist to an event or task

A checklist breaks something into steps. On a task it turns "write essay" into a next small thing you can actually start. On an event it's what you need to do or bring beforehand – so nothing's forgotten on the way to a lab or a seminar.

Add your own steps

  1. Open your event or task.
  2. Select the 'Checklist' tab.
  3. Select 'Add a step'.
  4. Enter the step.

You can add as many steps as you like. Two or three steps is plenty to start with. You can add more as you go, and it's worth making the first one small enough that beginning it feels easy.

Use a template

Booost has ready-made checklists for common pieces of work.

  1. Open your event or task.
  2. Select the 'Checklist' tab.
  3. Select 'Add a checklist template'.
  4. Choose the kind of work: Writing, Project planning, Revision, Reading, Research, Presenting or Emailing.
  5. Select 'Use this template'.

You can edit, reorder or remove any step afterwards, so a template is a starting point rather than something to follow exactly.

Tick off a step

Select the circle beside a step. Your progress shows as a count – 1/3, 2/3 – so you can see how far along you are without opening everything up.

Change or reorder a step

Select the three dots beside a step, then choose:

  • Edit – to reword it
  • Move up or Move down – to change the order
  • Delete – to remove it

Reuse a checklist

For anything that happens again, duplicate it rather than rebuilding the checklist. Select the three dots at the top, choose 'Duplicate task' or 'Duplicate event', then change the date on the copy. The whole checklist comes with it.
