Google Calendar connection errors
Most trouble connecting a Google calendar comes down to one of two things: an error message saying the calendar is already connected, or the wrong link being copied across from Google.
If you see a 409 error
This means Booost thinks the calendar is already connected, at least in part, so the new connection conflicts with the old one. Clearing the old connection fixes it.
- Select 'Account' (the person icon) on the navigation bar. On web: 'Account' is at the bottom of the left-hand panel.
- Select 'Connected calendars'.
- Select the calendar, then select 'Disconnect calendar'.
- Connect it again, following Connect a Google calendar.
- Sign out of Booost, then sign back in.
That last step matters – signing out and back in is what makes the new connection take effect properly.
If the link isn't working
Google offers several addresses on the same settings screen, and only one of them works with Booost. You need the address under 'Integrate calendar', labelled Secret address in iCal format.
These are the ones that look right but won't work:
- The address in your browser's address bar while you're looking at your calendar
- 'Public URL to this calendar'
- The embed code
Copy the secret address using the copy button at the end of the box rather than selecting the text by hand – that way you can't miss a character or pick up a stray space.
You no longer need to make your Google calendar public to connect it to Booost.
