Add an external calendar

Connect a calendar you already use – your timetable, a personal calendar, a work rota – and its events appear alongside everything else in Booost. Anything that changes in the original calendar updates in Booost too.

Before you start, you'll need a public link to your calendar, in iCal or .ics format. Where to find it depends on where your calendar lives:

  1. Select 'Account' (the person icon) on the navigation bar. On web: 'Account' is at the bottom of the left-hand panel.
  2. Select 'Connected calendars'.
  3. Select 'Add calendar'.
  4. Paste in your calendar link.
  5. Select 'Next'.

Booost brings in the next 90 days of events and checks for changes every 24 hours. If you can't see events further ahead than that, your calendar is connected correctly – those events will appear as the dates come closer.

If your calendar won't connect

Some calendars can't be linked to Booost directly, most often because the original system doesn't offer a public link. Adding it to Google Calendar first usually solves it, and Booost can then connect to that.

Step 1 – copy the link from your original calendar

Find the iCal or .ics link in whichever system your calendar lives in, and copy it.

Step 2 – add it to Google Calendar

  1. Open Google Calendar. You'll need a Google account, which is free to set up.
  2. Under 'Other calendars' in the left-hand panel, select the +.
  3. Select 'From URL'.
  4. Paste your link.
  5. Add the calendar.

Step 3 – copy the link from Google Calendar

  1. In Google Calendar settings, scroll to 'Integrate calendar'.
  2. Copy the secret address in iCal format. You may see a security warning – acknowledge it to continue.

Step 4 – connect it to Booost

Follow the steps above, pasting the link you copied from Google Calendar.

To rename or disconnect a calendar you've added, see Manage your connected calendars.
