Add an event

Add an event

Events are the things happening at a set time – lectures, appointments, anything with a slot in your day. You add them with Quick Add, then open them to fill in as much detail as you'd like.

  1. Select the + button in the middle of the navigation bar. On web: select '+ Add' at the top of the left-hand panel.
  2. Enter a name for your event.
  3. Check that 'Event' is already selected.
  4. Check the date and start and end times, and change them if you need to. New events start out on today's date, from 11:00 to 12:00.
  5. Select 'Add'.

Your event is saved straight away and appears in your calendar.

Add more detail

Open your event from your calendar to add anything else:

  • Date and Time – change when it happens
  • Location – where you need to be
  • Repeat – for anything happening regularly
  • Reminders – turn these on to be notified beforehand. See Set reminders for events and tasks
  • Colour – to make it recognisable at a glance
  • Checklist – steps to work through, on the 'Checklist' tab. See Add a checklist to an event or task
  • Notes – anything you want to hand, on the 'Notes' tab

To change the icon, select the icon in the top right of your event, choose one from the list, then select 'Done'.

Select 'Save' when you're happy with your event.

Duplicate or delete an event

  1. Open your event.
  2. Select the three dots in the top right.
  3. Select 'Duplicate event' or 'Delete event'.

Duplicating copies everything across, including any checklist and notes, and opens the copy so you can change what you need to.

You can change anything about your event later. See Edit an event or task.

This is for events you add yourself. To bring in a timetable or calendar from elsewhere, see Add an external calendar.
